A successful cartoonist from New York. She was born in small town Peshtigo in Wisconsin, but she moved to NY to start a career as author of comic strip Caroline in the City that gave title to the tv series. She used to date Del Cassidy, they were even engaged at one point, but when she hired Richard Karinsky as her colorist, he planted in her mind the concept of sincere amore, the love that you don't have to question.
She called the wedding off, but remained friends with Del, she even joined as an artist his new business, Eagle Greeting Cards.For a while it seemed that she actually could marry Richard, but at the last moment they found the difference between them were too big.
The sitcom Caroline in the City was cancelled after season 4, even though the plot was left on a cliffhanger - Caroline was about to get married to her teenage crush when Richard showed up and put completely different perspective to the situation.
